Job Description:

Working in collaboration with the Human Resources team of the Metropolitan Division of Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State, the Manager of Labor Relations establishes positive labor-management relations within the organization.

  • Ensures contract compliance with multiple collective bargaining agreements.
  • Conducts internal grievance hearings.
  • Participates with senior management in contract negotiations.
  • May represent the agency in arbitration and other administrative proceedings.
  • Provides on going guidance and direction to management regarding labor matters and contract interpretation.
  • Acts as a liaison between department managers and union representatives.
  • Develops and participates in training programs for managers in regard to employee relations, conflict resolution and union contract compliance.
  • Provides advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices, policy and employment laws.
  • Evaluates potential disciplinary matters and assists managers with preparation of disciplinary guidance.
  • Investigates employee complaints and provides guidance and recommendation for problem resolution to department managers.
Ensure compliance with employment law including, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA and NY labor laws.
