Ensures the overall care and well being of persons receiving services in assigned residence(s). Responsible for the overall management of the residences and direct supervision of Assistant Residence Managers, Residence Counselors, Residence Counselor/Medical Assistants, Secretaries, Housekeepers, Cooks, QIDPs and Relief Residence Counselors.  Sets performance standards and provides the support and training necessary for staff to achieve standards.  Coordinates and supervises the day-to-day operations of the residential program(s).  Ensures that all individuals receive continued quality care; develops and maintains good relations with families/advocates and the community.  Coordinates day-to-day operational issues within the residence along with being available for on call emergencies.  

 

Education Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related human services field and a minimum of five (5) years experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience required.
  2. Must have knowledge of HCBS Waiver, IRA and ICF regulations.
  3. NYS Valid Driver’s License & Proof of Department of Motor Vehicles driving history, 3 years of current driving experience with no more than one moving violation in the previous 24 months (2 years), and no driving while intoxicated convictions required.  Ability to operate up to a 15 person van, based on program need required.
  4. Required to work flexible hours including morning, evening, weekend and overnight shifts.  Required to be on-call via cellular phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide crisis management as necessary.
  5. Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 30lbs.
  6. Ability to travel to multiple locations within the five boroughs as needed.
  7. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
