Position Title: Special RN Investigator

Advocates for the rights of all people receiving services throughout the Agency by: conducting investigations of situations which may violate a person’s rights and/or protections of people receiving services, providing training to Agency wide staff on topics related to the protection of the rights of people receiving our services. Member of Agency standing committees, as assigned. Prepares and presents cases to the Agency's Incident Review Committee.

Education Requirements


Minimum BA/BS in related Human Services Field or licensure in medically related field required.

Job Requirements

NYS Registered Nurse

 Minimum three (3) years’ experience in conducting investigations required

Completed an approved OPWDD investigative training course

Experience training in the identification, prevention and reporting of abuse and investigative techniques

Thorough knowledge of state regulations governing incident reporting (14 NYCCR Part 624 and 625, Article 20 of the Executive Law and Article 11 of the Social Services Law) and Protection of Individual in Programs certified by OPWDD (Part 633 regulations).
